Another "summer toy" thread

Just picked up a 1998 Yamaha GP800 waverunner this morning. Took it out in some rough chop out in the bay today, and boy this thing is a blast. I only have one picture because the others didn't upload before my phone was fried from the water.

I've put ~10 miles on the car since I got home from the track. The posi makes some noise on turns, so as far as the car, I'm done with it for now. I'll fix it before the end of the summer. Until then, it's time to have some fun on the water.

Very nice, im sure thats a blast to ride. Now you just have to wait for a day when the bay is like glass so you can see how fast she'll go

Nice....flush it really well after riding in salt and spray down the engine bay with wd-40 after every ride. Riding in chop is fun but gets old after a while. Good pwc forum pwctoday.com

pretty much every night when there is no boat traffic the bay is pretty flat, I plan on taking it out on tuesday night with a gps to see how it does.

As long as you are aware that it is illegal to operate after dark. Not trying to bust your balls but I just wanted to check. I have a 1200 myself and love it. Best time to head out is right at sunset. Be careful and enjoy!

nah, i know some people that live in sunrise beach and they have a gated ramp that is literally right on the bay. I'm going to use that until I figure out where I'm going to keep it.

f-cove is quite the ride, but maybe one day I will. I also heard cops are cracking down on that spot. For now, I'll be hanging out at tices.

sweetbmxrider 06-15-2010 07:20 AM

dude everyone says that every year, nothing has changed. they will roll through once in a blue moon but thats it.

NJ346 06-15-2010 05:49 PM

just got back in....it was a lot calmer today but not top speed weather so I didn't take the gps out but I had a friend out with me that knows a lot about skis and said I was probably doing upper 40s, maybe low 50s. I learned how to tail whip it today and also got thrown off 2 times just trying to find my limits before I take it out on a busy day.
