Trans fluid leak

95 4L60E.

Puddle of red trans fluid around the converter dust shield, and I can't think of the name of the gasket that may be at fault.

I am guessing there is a seal around the input shaft on the trans behind the converter, but other than that, what else could leak around the converter?

input shaft seal most likely.

didn't you change converter nto too long ago? did you change the seal then? did you put oil on the collar first?

Nah I had someone do it for me bout two years ago, just started to leak substantially recently.

So the input shaft seal is the only culprit in that area?

Normally. I guess the pump housing maybe, but it's usually the seal.

Get is in the air and pull the dust cover off. You might need to clean it up real well, fill it and start it, but my guess is it will be obvious.
