Stepping my game up
It's been a while as I dumped a ton of money into my drivetrain a few years prior so I took a brief hiatus and just drove and enjoyed my car, but now its time to get back in it. I'm gonna change the look of my car over the next week. This is the start, updates to come throughout the week and the rest of the summer. I'll continue updating in this thread.
New hood: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...0/IMG_0410.jpg Deleted side moldings and Z28 emblems: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...0/IMG_0411.jpg Fitment is questionable, I'll be contacting VFN this week: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...0/IMG_0412.jpg Looks mean, and dropped some pounds, stay tuned: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...0/IMG_0413.jpg |
coooool! my vfn ws6 hood fit similar to urs and their customer service BLOWS
|
nice! you say your changing the look, is a different paint color in the plans? just curious. be watching for updates. good luck
i guess i got lucky with my VFN hood, only needed some trimming but fit perfect. |
I love those rims. what style from OZ, what size, and whats their weight?
|
Hood looks good.
|
lookin good. Hopefully you can shrink that gap a little
|
my ram air firebird VFN hood fits ok, but being a full race, extended to windshield lift off, i didnt expect perfect.
when i bought a Glasstek lift off for my SS it fit awesome, but i never got around to installing it, and later sold it to someone else on this board. ill always shop glasstek first |
I may end up selling the hood. If there is one thing I'm crazy about, its panel fitment. It is torturing me right now, and I have to find a way to lower it, or else its getting tossed.
Bill- The car will be changing colors, you guessed correctly. I'll show pics by the end of this week. Blacdout- They are OZ Superleggeras in 18x9. They weight, I believe, 19 pounds each. They are great quality, but I want to replace them. I want something new. The new wheel I want I am having trouble finding in America in my fitment, so I'm holding onto them for now. Thanks for the compliments, check back this week. I promise something big. |
Sorry, my internet has been down and my best friend got engaged. It turns out this stuff is more difficult than I had thought. We got two fenders done, but the first needs to be redone. Once we catch our groove, it should happen quicker. It's Oracle Matte Black vinyl. We were inspired by this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376442

Thanks for the nice words guys. And I think the next step is more aggressive wheels. Unfortunately the ones I want aren't available in the US |
Wow...the matte look is pretty sick.
|
I had the same fitment issues with mine. I got it down pretty good up by the windshield cowl, but mine is just a tad bit up by the passenger headlight. Doesn't bother me much. Looks good, Jake!

unfortunately the school year began too early, and it is not done. Here is an update though. Here I am at Pratt Automotive in Jamestown getting a flat repaired. The guy who worked on my car was the owner of two fbodies and is currently parting out his sunset orange SS which his friend wrecked. He did a cam in his car in 7 hours. Kid knew his stuff and was excited to see my car. The owner had a 75 Lancia Beta and took time off to show me the car and show me pics of his old cars and what comes through the shop. He takes pictures of notable cars that he works on. I love shops like that.
