Computer Question After W7 Update
Well I am posting this here because I know enough about computers to get my in trouble but am lost when it comes to some things. I updated to Windows 7 recently on my laptop (Hp Pavilion 2500) and I cant scroll with my touchpad any longer. Im pretty sure its a driver problem but I cant find anything online. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks for your help.

i had the hardest time figuring out how to do that on my hp pavilion dm4. finally i got it, i went to control panel, hardware and sound, devices and printers, mouse, device settings, settings. then a menu came up and there is a drop down tap and there are setting for one finger and 2 finger scrolling. hope that helps.

I appreciate the help but unfortunately that didnt work. I think its a driver issue, Im not sure though.

did the driver get deleated? we both have pretty much the same computer, so they probably use the same touch pad. why do you just redownload and reinstall it. mine has one my by synaptics driver version 15.0.4.0. my touch pad is synaptics ps/2 port touch pad

I just reinstalled the driver from Synaptics and still no luck. Im getting frustrated. My next question is going to be, how do I get back to Windows Vista.
|
After upgrading did you run download and install all updates through windows? Also you may want to research the driver as it may not be compatibale with windows 7. IMHO its a small sacrifice to make for the convenience W7 offers over vista. Just my .02 however.

I had issues with Synaptics in Windows 7. The pad drivers I have are called "Alps point device" and are extremely customizable. You can even adjust the size of the section on the pad that scrolls etc.

Im not sure what to do. I guess I'll just put up with it and get used to not having it :(

Did you try the other driver that r0nin89 suggested?
