Mechanic/Machine shop?

Can anyone point me to a good shop in the Bridgewater/Somerville area I can take my car?

I notice I am leaking oil from the passenger side head gasket :(... might as well have the heads worked on while they have it apart

I dont know any machinist combo shops in one but I can give ya the name of a good machinist the heads. Lemme just make sure hes savvy on newer stuff since he primarily does stock rebuilds and circle track motors.

If Tony Feil's shop in Raritan (he no longer owns it) is still open they did good work on my motor. They are on Orlando Dr. They won't house the car there though...they only deal with just the engines. You can also bring it to my shop for disassembly and I can have them or Promar do the head work for you.

Paul:

Feil is no longer on Orlando Dr. That's who I would have recommended (used them 3 times, did awesome each time) but Tony retired and the shop is now a regular auto place.

I wasn't sure. After Feil retired it was called Competition Engines and run by a guy named Rich I believe. They did my engine and I'm very happy with it so far.

I took a ride down Orlando drive on the way home tonight.. there is an auto service garage there but its not a performance shop. I would imagine they could at least fix the head gasket.

One question about the heads, do you think it is necessary to pull the motor to work on the heads? I spoke to a guy at a performance shop down by englishtown today and he recommends pulling the motor when pulling both heads off the car. His reason was it is the only way to make sure you can torq the head bolts properly because of the way the engine sits in the car.

Does that sound right?
