Trying to find oil fill cap and breather elbow....
I just bought some polished valve covers with no caps and can't find any that will fit. The opening in each cover is 1 3/8". I would be willing to use a push-in or screw on oil cap if that can be made to work. I just want something with a tight seal so I don't sweat oil out of it. I would like them to be chrome or polished. Trying to keep it a sealed system so I can utilize the pcv setup so I would need an elbow or a non-vented cap with an outlet, size doesn't really matter. Any help is always appreciated 8-)

Pics of said covers?
You could try a 3800 specific forum, they prob know more. |

That would have been funny if I had a 3.8 pal :| |
Huh. On my Vortec VC's I've got standard parts house caps (Spectre?) and a K&N breather. They were a tight fit but worked fine. I did get a little weepage from one of the caps but a quick skim of RTV on the grommet fixed that up.
Edit: The only larger grommets I'm finding are either 1.25 OD or 1.5 OD. Damn. |
Looks like they are 1.22" (1 3/16ths) so that should be easy 8-)
Damn tape measure fooled me the first time  I appreciate the help though! :dancinglock: |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Profo...ts_Accessories Well I'm looking at these two. It says they fit a 1.22" hole but that no grommet is included. Does that mean the outer diameter of the push in tube is 1.22" or that I will have to get a grommet? I guess I can just get them and find out hahaha |

But to answer your question directly, yeah, you will need grommets. |
Yeah I think I'm going to try that first, thanks Bill.

I think mine are from WESCO products? But they look like the ones below.

They look pretty good, I think I was looking at them before.
I also found this cap http://www.crazydaveyracing.com/stor...products_id=43 and I might end up doing a grommet and sticking a plastic elbow in the passenger cover to route back to the throttle body for the pcv. First I will try some local parts and see what fits :D |
