Car Repaint
I am looking to get my 69 Camaro repainted this coming spring. I have heard J&S in South Orange is good. Has anyone had a car painted there? Any other suggestions?

If you're willing to go north like that why not call and talk to Summit Rod & Custom --->>>

Rob......I just sent you over a PM about your paint. You can find some more info in my signature as well.

I'd have to say go with paul aka harcore... great work

Have you looked at Somerset Hills Classics? They are just over in Bernardsville. They do full paint in house. Worth the look.

Thanks for all the great ideas

Be sure to see their work, who ever you go to. One person's idea of a good/great paint job can be completely different front another. Do not rely on pictures and try to see more than one example of their work. Lots of people like my Nova paint job and that's not a bad thing! However, I know of and can find the imperfections and it bothers me to no end. We rushed it to make it to an event and its not as good as it could be. That is just an example of some thinking its an amazing paint job and me being Mr. anal and finding all the imperfections. Definitely use a shop that is dedicated to quality not quantity. A regular body shop wouldn't be my first choice unless you know someone personally. Regular body shops work under the rule that the job is "commercially acceptable" which basically means its good enough as an everyday vehicle and someone isn't going to nit pick it or bring it to a car show. Good luck on your search.

I agree with everything McNova said. Most likely taking the car to a regular bodyshop won't yield the quality you're after and it may be tied up for a year or more in paint jail as they usually only do full repaints as filler work between collision jobs.

Rob, sent you a PM as well. We'd be happy to quote you on the project as well so you can have a few choices. As mentioned the collection of shops to choose from in your immediate area, RPM, myself, Somerset all offer services above that of a body shop. This is not to say that a production style shop can not offer a quality respray but their approach to this type of work has always been different than ours.

Personally I'd stay away from Somerset. I know people who have used them and there's always some sort of issue. I also have a friend who works there and business hasn't been good....for a reason according to him.
