LS1 engine measurements
Don't ask what it may go in, that's a suprise haha. My next project, since I'm becoming tired of the Camaro, will involve a LS1, and potentially an entire Corvette drivetrain for weight distribution purposes....... anywho, whats the total length from back of the block to all the drivebelt hardware, waterpump, ect, the height from oil pan to top of intake, and width including stock manifolds. I have my measurements for what it may go in, and want to see if anythign will need to be fabbed to make it fit. thanks guys.

IMO, pick up a plastic mock-up LS1 block. I doubt anyone has those measurements handy. Perhaps someone would be willing to measure one for you.

You should PM Bonzo, he has a LS1 doorstep.

Speed inc sells the mock up blocks for $375

i see used fake blocks for sale every now & then ~$200. I bet you can get a bad real block cheaper.

Problem is that most people aren't idiots and don't just trash blocks, they get scrapped. Rare to find someone that will give one away.

I bet a scrap aluminum block is worth $50+ at the yard. Iron block much less. But $50-75 is still cheaper than $200+ for a plastic mock up. And you can scrap it afterwords. You gotta pay to play. ;)

Best bet would be to find a 5.3 truck block, they are cheaper and easier to find than a 346. Dimensions are the same.

i got a aluminum mock up block you can borrow if need be for a month or so
