just snapped a few pics while doing the suspension upgrades
'10 Z06 Shocks '10 Z51 Sway Bars http://inlinethumb14.webshots.com/47...600x600Q85.jpg new vs old! http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/45...600x600Q85.jpg new vs old sways http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/25...600x600Q85.jpg the stuck lowering bolt! http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/44...600x600Q85.jpg |
How much thicker is the new sway bar? Looks appreciably bigger
That's a big front sway.
went from stock base C5 23mm/19.1mm to 2010 C6 Z51 31mm/25.6mm
That's awesome - looks like a direct bolt-on too! How about the shocks - don't they have that new magnetic-ride crap in the '10 Z06? Does that make a difference?
Fun stuff.
You need some jackstands! |
yes please get a good set of jack stands, that looks dangerous. especially that black jack looks like a stock emergency jack. id be scared to get under that. especially after i had a jack slowly give out on me a year or two back while measuring the yoke on my trans am. scared the hell out of me.
jack stands are under the front craddle (you can see the base of one in the first and last pic... im not that retarted lol)... the black jack is an SUV jack while the red one is a low profile one for the vette
all parts are direct bolt one.... C6 used the C5 suspension :) no mag ride crap lol |

Ah alright, still need the computer though right?
sure lol i duno... maybe a bcm type computer
Magnaride was not on the Z06 untill the recent Z07 performance package gave it the ZR1's brakes, shocks, wheels and tires.
Magnaride was standard on the old Z51. Not sure if the new Grand Sport has the same system, of it uses the Z06's standard shocks which are not computer controled. |
broke one of the stupid plastic end links! guess i shoulda upgraded those too!
Yeah, they suck. I hate thoes stupid plastic bastards on any car that has them.
