Changing fuel pump on 97 Grand Prix

Coworker is having issues with her 97 Grand Prix 3.8 non-s/c. It is likely the fuel pump but is there a way to just purchase the pump and not the entire assembly? The auto stores all show the entire assembly so just curious if that's what she is stuck with buying.

When I did it I had to replace the entire assembly. I don't think anyone sells them seperately unless you go to a Walbro or other aftermarket pump. There was a member on here who worked for Clinton GM who got me a deal but it was still around $400-$500.

Also, depending on when in the calendar year the car was built she may have the factory fuel pump trap door which makes it much easier.

Yea she doesn't have a ton of money so was just curious of the other options. Tried to do some basic diagnostics in the parking lot but her battery died so no go.

Ehh her dad is going to tow the car to their house and they will mess with it. Unfortunately, the car is a bit of a basket case with over 200k on the clock. I suggested start with the fuel filter and work from there.
