2011 ss bolt on numbers
we've had a couple of 2011's coming into the shop for simple bolt ons, mostly flowmaster exhausts. we had a chance to tune an auto ss convertible with the varam ram air (badass imho) headers, stock mid, and flowmaster mufflers. this thing is def impressive. we took the displacement on demand and variable cam timing off (slight oversight) but she put down 384tq and 354hp on our dynomite. damn thing barks 1-2 and 2-3. we turned on the variable cam timing for the guy before he left and he said it felt even stronger. probably almost 400tq. not bad for an auto and sounds mean as all F***

Damn, that is pretty impressive. Do you know what they put down stock?
|
Not bad at all. I'm actually surprised the numbers aren't a bit higher for the mods. How does your dyno compare to a dynojet?
|
i think it might be lower than a dynojet but its defintiely more accurate. it measures torque and calculates hp where i believe dynojet is the reverse. but i know there are some opinions to the contrary floating around out there..
i'm not sure what it put down stock we actually thought about testing it after the fact. |
what does stock mid mean

ahh ok. cause im planning on getting a programmer, SLP header kit and SLP loudmouths for our 2011 and a CAI and was wondering what it meant haha, the header kit from slp comes with a high flow cat
|
yea we changed the headers, left the stock mids/cats (dont know why) and added the flowmaster mufflers in place of the stock ones.
i'd say forego the programmer and get it tuned, thats where we had our biggest gains. the bolt-ons were a nice little bump but the big increase came with the tune. way more than you would get imo with a handheld |
