lifter noise

last few days i've been hearing what sounds like a lifter tap and it's been getting progressively louder. I took the valve covers off to listen and sounds like a tapping and loud chirping noise. the springs and rockers look ok. im trying to isolate the noise now. If anyone has any suggestions on where to turn next that would be appreciated.

If you're hearing chirping, I've come to find that's never a good thing, that would be metal to metal contact, just like what my engine did before it bit the big one.

Do you havea video clip?

Tough to tell in the vid. Can you listen around with a screwdriver and put your ear on the end? I would try to isolate it from the top and front of the motor. How is the oil pressure? Might have spun a bearing.
