ecu and heat
 
can a ecu get hot and stop the eng from running then cool off and run fine after. any help will be appreciated. also the car is a 95 camaro lt1 383.

I would look towards the icm. They become heat soaked from sitting on the head. Most just space it out with washers.

What he said. The ignition control module can get overheated so that's probably the first place to look.

If ths is hppenin repeaedly it could also be he coil.

Tae the ICM off, put afew washers behind it so it not up against the head,that helps some times.

i replaced the icm and put the washers behind it. the last time it happend i took the msd box and coil out and put a stock coil in place still no help

When the motor stops running, I would check to see whether or not you have spark and whether or not you have adequate fuel pressure.
