Based on speed rating of tires IIRC.
And Dear ********: Stop calling "street racing" "drag racing". Love, WBT |
my old Denali did over 100...
edit: apparently the 99-00 Denalis and Escalades had a higher speed limiter than the basic Tahoes and Yukons, matched with a higher 120mph speedo. |
The new body style Silverado's are limited around 97MPH, dont ask me how I know that.
Unless you have HP tuners, but I don't know anything about that.
hes an ex drive no? it wouldnt suprise me if there was some goodies on that truck
Ya, could be tuned. My dad's 96 was limited to 100 and would back you down to 97 on the speedo. I think the '11 gmc gmi had went over 100 stock.

Though drag racing got it's name from street racing. The drag being a main street. I guess they aren't wrong after all, eh?

Thought the same thing when I saw the article yesterday. I know my Vue is limited to 99, but the Red Line model has higher speed rated tires and can go up near 120. I wouldn't be surprised if his truck had a tune anyway.
Limiter on my Suburban was 98 MPH stock. I bumped it up to 135 MPH when I tuned it.
my friends avalanche is limited too.
my blazer is limited.... by lack of power lol
even a duramax diesel in 2006.5 was limited to 98mph
