Cadillac ups the bar and other GM things

In case you wanted to know, GM just unleashed a bunch of information over the last 24 hrs.

Caddy shows off its new super-infotainment system called CUE. Will debut in the XTS, then in the 2013 SRX and ATS.

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...2012-a-106258/

Bunch of Chevy news. The Chevy Spark will slot under Sonic, powered by a 93hp 4cyl. There will also be a full electric model that will sorta go after the Leaf.

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...lineup-106264/

We will have the new Colorado and Trailblazer coming.

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...al-suv-106263/

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...ed-u-s-106224/

Oh, and there will be a convertible ZL1.

LS1ow 10-12-2011 06:23 PM

saw the ZL1 droptop on some site yeserday, i like the 5th gen verts more than i do the coupes. looks nice!

but the colorado on the other hand.... NO WAY

redsoxsstink 10-12-2011 06:25 PM

ohhh... my ..... god that vert is so hot. mixed feelings about the colorado though and the trailblazer just looks the equinox. why gm would do that is weird, the equinox is one of their best selling models

sweetbmxrider 10-12-2011 06:42 PM

I hear Pontiac is coming back next year, any insight to this news?

LTb1ow 10-12-2011 06:45 PM

So out of this list...

2012 Aston Martin DB9 Volante – 470 hp / 443 lb.-ft.
2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG – 518 hp / 465 lb.-ft.
2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S – 530 hp / 516 lb.-ft.
2011 Ford Shelby GT500 – 550 hp / 510 lb.-ft.

How many of them weigh significantly less than the new ZL1? I would be they all weigh a lot less.

Aston an the SL weight more. 911 Turbo S and GT500 are less.

And the Trailblazer looks like the Equinox?

madness410 10-12-2011 07:15 PM

yeah whats with the weird picture of the trailblazer i was excited to see what it looks like.

zl1 is sexy..i wonder if esi will get one

...probably not though.

maroman88 10-12-2011 07:33 PM

the AT tires on the colorado dont fit with the minivan front end they stuck on it... other then that the zl1 vert looks great, glad the trailblazer name is coming back (replacing traverse?) mmmm maybe another TBSS!?!?, and dont care about the spark...

i guess caddi needs the entertainment crap to keep up with the competition but it does nada for me

good call maroman they look pretty darn close other than the tailights

sweetbmxrider 10-12-2011 08:12 PM

Flares bigger, quarter smaller, window chrome divides windows differently, hatch looks narrower.

Big pal, is it a different platform?

Tru2Chevy 10-12-2011 08:14 PM

The Trailblazer is likely going to slot in between the 'nox and the Traverse crossovers as a tougher, off-road capable BoF SUV based on the Colorado chassis. GM hasn't said for sure that it's coming to the US, but speculation is that it will.

Tblazer will be different and slot between Equinox and Traverse, but by the time we get the Tblazer, the Nox and Traverse will be different.

Tblazer will be built off the Colorado chassis, which will be BOF RWD/4WD. Very different than the Nox and Traverse.

WayFast84 10-13-2011 02:36 AM

Thread title should be renamed to gm neuters Chevy..

Those trucks/suv look horrible. I do like the tiny car though. It says a lot about the brand.

redsoxsstink 10-13-2011 07:12 AM

when is the cobalt gonna get a revision. scion couldnt make enough 2drs. every kid wants one.

WiMiMc 10-13-2011 10:05 AM

meh i hope the trailblazer doesn't have the front end like the Colorado. That grille and headlights are okay for things like the Traverse, but keep the Silverado front end for the Trailblazer and Colorado

Cobalt? Are you joking? It was replaced by the Cruze like 2 years go. Plus the new aveo replacement should entice brain dead ricers.

Hey Al, are you hearing about complaints of paint quality on new GMs, especially camaros?

chevy needs a cheap 2 door coupe. cruze is 4 doors. look at scion they have a car with options out the ass, its stylish, edgey and dumb people love it. chevy is still a old people group of cars they need somthing young kids want and can afford

sonic avao whatever they want to call it wont do anything. they wont be able to steal the hot hatch market from vw.

i'd be curious how many small 2 doors are really sold. the market may not be big enough to really dive into - I mean if the entire market is 50,000 units amongst 2 or three companies, its kind of hard to invest much in that. no company can be all things to all consumers.

What do you consider affordable in that market? $10k? $15k? $20k?

maroman88 10-13-2011 02:00 PM

agree that gm needs a small cheap 2 door.... my area, bergen county, is freakin loaded with civic and accord coupes, altima coupes and scion Tc's... and a ton of cobalts... seems like EVERY high school/college kid gets a new one

LTb1ow 10-13-2011 03:28 PM

GM needs to install Dmax's in more things.

WiMiMc 10-13-2011 03:43 PM

aren't the Spark and the Sonic(starts at 13k before they killed the aveo it started at 11k) supposed to be small affordable cars?

agreed. I associate them all with being girl cars. As for the new TC.. but ugly, even for a girls car.

BonzoHansen 10-13-2011 03:54 PM

http://www.sonicownersforum.com/Pict...chback-021.jpg

this does not meet such criteria?

maroman88 10-13-2011 03:57 PM

hows a (hideous) 4 door hatch meeting criteria for a small 2 door coupe?
