Senna
So I just got back from seeing the documentary Senna, and I have to say, as much as I've researched his death, seen all the replay's and such, nothing prepared me for what the documentary builds up to make you at least shed a tear. I HIGHLY recommend watching it, and please take as many people as you can.
For those of you who do not know who Senna is, or who haven't visited Jalopnik lately, he was a 3 time F1 champion who...well you'll just have to see the documentary to find out what happened. there's a lot more to his racing career then just the car, there was politics galore, and a blatent disregard for safety, even in the 90's. i am more then confident to say I teared up ,and cried a little, but maybe because this form a racing and because I'm a fan of Senna, that it hit a little more personal for me, but I'm confident that this movie will hit you where it hurts emotionally. |
I have senna gp for the sega genesis. lol
He was a great driver. he got killed getting hit by debris in the head didn't he? |
Yes, his suspension pierced his helmet. They said 6 inches above or below where it hit, and he would of walked away to the paddock without a scratch, He had no cuts or bruises from that accident, just the puncture to his head.
Where did you see it? Ive been wanting to see that and the electric car movie
They are showing it at the frank theatres ( tilton 9 ) in Northfield. It's about 10 minutes from A.C.
I see there is one place up in your area about to or already is playing it, so you might want to give them a call. Claridge Theatres in Montclair. |
Montclair? That's not close.
You central/northies are all the same to me lol. it seems though west long branch is centered between both of the theatres, so either way it'll be a small ride. I'm thinking of going to see it again
I heard that they were widening the release of it. I was hoping to get up to NYC to see it when it was released in August, but I didn't have the chance. I'll look up showtimes and catch it soon.

I'm not a huge racing fan but he was always one of my favorite racers.
i saw it about a month ago and i went to both showings...simply riveting was what the reviews said and they were exactly right....i shed a tear more than once...
r.i.p. dan wheldon as well.....another great driver lost |
i wanted to go see this too, looked really interesting
Did they mention his work with the NSX?
Nope. Wasen't a lot of talk about outside of the race car, basically showed how he rose to Mclaren, his fight wight Prost, and then up to his death. it was showing more about the politics in the back round during that time, really opens your eyes on the subject.

This is now on Netflix. Just saw it and its such an amazing but tragic story.
Netflix eh? Time to steal the gf's sister's Wii.
It is!? **** just got real.
Wow.
It got hard to watch knowing what was coming up around the last turn. There's only a handful of things I'll watch again after the initial time and this will definetly be on that list. In searching Netflix for something a bit more cheerful I'm came across "Love the Beast". Eric Bana, jay Leno, dr Phil, and a 600hp Falcon. Strange combo but it's a good watch. |
Yeah, Bana and his Falcon. I've seen bits and pieces. They showed a clip of him going into the woods when he was on Top Gear.
If your a car guy and don't feel anything from love the beast you probably aren't a car guy..
Yesssssss...I'm about half-way through it now. Friggin great.
Just watched this again tonight, a movie not to miss!
