fuel pump change

Was wondering if anyones done this. I have a sneaking suspicion that my fuel pump will be takin a s*** soon and was wondering if anyone has cut out a trap door in the floor instead of dropping the tank.

the pump still works, but ive ran the tank dry like 3 times and just have the feeling that its gonna go.

so any input would be helpful
thanks

I plan on doing mine come winter. I plan on cutting an access hole in the floor as well. If you Google camaro fuel pump trap door there are complete write ups on where to cut

Trap door is exactly what it sounds like, a hack job. Take pride in your car and do it right.

Wait a minute, don't you have access to a lift?

sweetbmxrider 12-17-2011 10:48 AM

Yes, but I also have a full tank of gas :(

The tank is oddly shaped for a trans jack but it can be done if you have one. Just saying!

That's how it always is.

I just let the tank smash into the rear and then fish the sending unit out. All is well now.

I made an attachment out of wood for that.
