My new addition ;)

She finally arrived on February 10 at 4:57 pm. She weighed 8lbs 5.2 ounces. My fiance had trouble and couldnt push her all the way out, I saw her head coming out but then they had to push her back inside and do an emergency c-section. It was gory, gruesome and scary. Stuff youd only see in horror films. I must say for you guys that dont have kids yet, make sure you're in the room when it happens. Its magical and emotional and just amazing..Heres a few photos of the little princess. Her name is Gemma Lynn Geers :) Everyone says she looks just like her daddy

It only gets scarier! LOL. Congrats, she is beautiful. Man, sometimes I forget how small they start out.

My wife had c-sections for both our kids. I was in the OR with her but I did not look, I stayed on the good side of the drape thing they hung over her. I saw no need for that!

nj85z28 02-13-2012 07:49 AM

yea i started off on the good side of the sheet. but then they were like, hey daddy here's the baby! look..so i had to look. and then they had their hands on this huge cyst about the size of a grapefruit my fiance was having trouble with for years, and they removed that while they were in there. so all in all it was a worthwhile procedure even though it was scary.

BonzoHansen 02-13-2012 07:51 AM

Damn docs, just like mechanic "while we are there". LOL

I hope they got her up walking as soon as she could. It helps them heal. 1st time my wife was all skittish and it prolonged her recovery. 2nd one she was up & about right away and she boucned back faster.

Definitely make sure she's up and around ASAP, even though it will be painful. My wife had both of our kids by C-section, and she was up walking and trying to move as much as possible a few hours after the drugs wore off. The morning after Giada was born, someone from the anasthesiologists group came by and saw she was already out of bed, so they didn't even bother to check her - they said "Hello" from the doorway and left.
