A 1994 will have a tailpipe/visual test. Get your sticker first.

Unless it's for sound you are better off just doing a high flow cat.

I was thinking maybe a straight pipe too. I havent been 2 inspection in a long time (owned diesels) and wasnt sure what theyre checking. How would a high flow cat be better than a gutted?? Back pressure?

Gutted create turbulence in the exhaust because it's a large empty space for no reason.

A high flow cat will still pass tailpipe emissions and visual and flow plenty. Gutted cat will mess up the airflow some. High flow cats don't rob much power at all unless you're up in the 500+ hp range.

While the car sounded great and had maybe 1 more HP, I had false knock from gutted cats and the exhaust had a strong odor.
