We can't help you until you provide that information. Get under the car & look for stamped logos on any of your exhaust components. Muffler & tips should be a good indicator of the cat-back system that's on it. The Y-Pipe or X-pipe will be harder to tell, but you will see if it is stock or aftermarket, and if it has catalytic converters on it. Lastly, if there are stock exhaust manifolds or aftermarket headers coming off the engine.

If you don't know what you're looking at, take some *vivid* pictures and post them here.

We can go from there.

shadowfire 02-15-2012 06:47 PM

sorry not good with this stuff

shadowfire 02-15-2012 07:39 PM

its full bbk off road exhaust

Jersey Mike 02-15-2012 07:57 PM

BBK makes a muffler? News to me. I'm fairly certain the Magnaflow is the most quiet bolt-on axle-back exhaust available to the 4th Gen F-Bodies.

Just to be certain, take a look under your rear bumper to see what it says on the muffler. This is a good deal on a Magnaflow system for sale here by a club member: http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=55511
The swap could be done yourself for free, or for under $100 at most any shop.

BullittSVT 02-15-2012 07:57 PM

Does BBK even make cat backs for F-body's?

coolmanvette75 02-15-2012 08:03 PM

Judging by your exhaust dumping behind the rear tires, bubba did some exhaust work on your car. Best bet is just to get a magnaflow catback . Quiet but still sounds good under wot...

This is a previous posted video of his car. Never seen that set up looks custom or really rare.

ok crawled under : the muffler says flow masters omg cheep junk , but the way its set up under there is strange i think somebody did some custom @#%$ work

Jersey Mike 02-16-2012 02:22 PM

Flow Master is the ricer exhaust choice of the trailer park V8 owner. Get that off and swap on that Magnaflow. Not hard.

Good luck.

you have a built motor with LTs and no cats.... did u expect it to be quiet?

I had a similar exhaust setup with a magnaflow and it was insanely loud. due to pipe size and no cats, thats what you're gonna get.

If you want quietER, get 2 universal cats and have them welded into the pipes right after the header flanges. then to cut additional sound go for a muffler like dynomax ultraflow or a spintech. If its still too loud after that, i'll sell you a complete stock manifold-back setup which will make it quiet.

insane is an understatement :bertstare: haha

WayFast84 02-16-2012 04:44 PM

I think your best bet would be to use a dynomax super turbo muffler. They flow well, are pretty quiet but sound good and they are pretty inexpensive.

shadowfire 02-16-2012 05:45 PM

ill look into that stuff thanks

LS1ow 02-16-2012 06:51 PM

have you considered the SLP LM1 exhaust ?

Loudmouths are quiet... if the car is turned off of course.
