Police shot a man dead in woodbridge mall today

about 4 articles out there... to me this one had the most info...

EDIT: The link below seems to be updating pretty often so it may be a more reliable source :

Sometimes I really can't stand the world we live in. There are just way too many pieces of "you know what" walking around. You can't even send your loved ones out shopping. Glad the guy got what was coming to him personally. Okay, I'm done With my .02 lol.

Shot to death by an off-duty cop? I wouldn't want to fill out that paperwork.

Fast92RS 03-08-2012 07:43 PM

It was only a matter of time. That place has been going down hill for a while now.

greenformula92 03-08-2012 08:01 PM

I don't know which is worse, the fact that the person he held hostage got wrapped into that or the bullet us tax payers bought had to be used on such a low-life scum bag

madness410 03-08-2012 08:23 PM

wait for all the facts to come out. from the article listed there is general information and not specifics.

if it is true its a shame all of that happened over a pair of pants.

Apparently he was an on-duty officer.

It is unclear what happened from what I read. Nonetheless, it's a tough situation and my sympathy is with the family of the deceased.

As I get older, I realize life isn't so black and white. We are just people living in certain circumstances. This guy had circumstances that lead him to the situation at that mall. It's a tough time we're living in, and it's sad that someone was brought to that situation, whether it be from greed and materialism, or needing clothing for his family, or just outright scummy behavior. Regardless, it sucks.

police services detail sounds like, the company pays the town XX amount of dollars for use of the police officer and vehicle, town keeps a percentage, officer gets the rest

They usually have police outside of that mall every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, especially by the movie theater. Wouldn't be a stretch to think the mall was paying for it and the LEOs were getting "OT."

its contracted overtime, the owners of the business (mall in this case) work out a contract with the local town/dept to pay xxx amount of money for officers on certain nights.

the officers are technically off duty, as they are not earning their normal rate or overtime rate, and are outside of their normal work week, but the business is paying the dept the money, and the money is then paid to the officer

zraffz 03-10-2012 11:47 PM

Good. Glad he shot him and killed him.

On another note I'm very glad I wasn't in that mall lol...
