My blower is losing its breath...
The SC is my riviera seems to be ****ting the bed as of late, at 132k its got a bunch of age on it, and with 35k miles of those driven by me its been taking it like a champ until recently... so has anyone ever rebuilt or replaced an m90 on a 3800 car?
|
check ebay for an idea, rebuilts look about 350-400
|
Yes. I got a rebuilt ported m90 from superchargersonline.com and it was very good.

Used to work with a GM service manager, said they had bins behind the shop full of them!! They really only come already built, not much out there to rebuild them with. Check ZZPerformance, Intense-Racing.com. Also try 3800Pro.com or FullthrottleV6.com, someone can point you in the right direction, you don't want to get one off eBay using Chinese bearing assemblies.

Well first im just gonna throw a new coupler in there and see if that fixes it, if it doesnt then ill probably tear a little deeper into the top end
|
make sure its cold for at least 12 hours before hand. hot blower oil spraying in your face is not a fun time

The ONLY way the M90 was available from GM was as a complete assembly, which was $2500 or something crazy like that. At the time bearing and coupler kits were not available so I got that remanu unit which was of very good quality. http://www.superchargersonline.com/i...oducts_id=7062 Does it make noise? How is your belt/tensioner? If you pull the belt and turn the pulley, does it clunk or grind? If you replace the coupler make sure you use a stock one and not an aftermarket. |

I have an S/C with a modular pulley if you need it, $125 takes it since I'm sick of looking at it. Good coupler, bolt on and go.
