Glove box gauge pod

my friend asked me to see if i can fab something up for him, so im going to try my hand at it. ive seen it done befor, so i know its possible

gunna try to make some sort of corner of the glove box gauge pod thing that when opened it will have the angle so the drive can read the read out on the gauge.

gunna go start cutting ruining things now.

pics of failure come at some point tmmr

Its a cool idea and will look cool too but who wants to turn their head to the glove box while racing?

Mike 04-21-2012 08:27 AM

the location would be better for data-logging type stuff, so you can review after the pass instead of looking toward the passenger footwell while racing...

LS1ow 04-21-2012 08:28 PM

pod was done last night.

gauge is a bottle pressure gauge for one of my local friends. so you dont really needa "watch" the gauge, and its nice and hidden.

pic as soon as someone lets me borrow there iphone... blackberry cameras blowww

evilz99 04-21-2012 10:12 PM

nice work.

i made a 2 gauge and a shift light pod for my lt1 car that replaced all the HVAC controls bc they were no longer used. first beer has it now, ill try to find a pic

evilz99 04-22-2012 01:35 PM

Nice. I originally got a triple a pillar pod but that thing was horrible. The gauges sit right on your eyeball and you still can't see all 3 clearly and it seems like it cover the whole wind shield lol.

LS1ow 04-22-2012 01:50 PM

yea im not a fan of the pillar pods really. 1 is okay, but 3 i dont like. when i get done with my trans am im prob going to run a single pillar pod and then the other gauge in 1 of the vents

greenformula92 04-24-2012 08:17 AM

Thats a good idea. not everyone needs to know everything you have. now to hide the bottle

Its not mounted in any of those pics, i trimmed i tiny tiny amount off the bottem and side to get it to sit betta.

sweetbmxrider 04-25-2012 10:03 AM

Nice, tough doing it by hand I'm sure.

Jersey Mike 04-25-2012 10:40 AM

Nice touch. How many mounting points are there? As mentioned last night, I dig it a lot.

LS1ow 04-25-2012 10:56 AM

currently 1 and its pretty solid, but i want to throw another on there for swag

LTb1ow 04-25-2012 11:54 AM

So, will it be wired to iluminate with the glove box open and off when its closed? Can it blend?

thats a good idea, and i may do that.

affirmative on being able to blend.

also, i think if i make more of these to sell or something. i will just cut em with the press.

sweetbmxrider 04-25-2012 12:50 PM

Definitely a cool idea with the glove box opening/gauge lighting up. I would think that you may get a decent glare on the gauge though with the glove box light shining so you may want to just pull that bulb.

coolmanvette75 04-25-2012 01:43 PM

Looks good. Whose car? Krupas?
