Tough Mudder PA 2012 pictures
As some of you know, I did the Pocono Tough Mudder this past weekend with the GORUCK crew. Some of us had rucks full of beer, some of us had rucks full of bricks, and some had both. We had a blast, with the beer and extra pushups, squats, etc, leading to a 5+ hour time for the course. We pretty much just made a mockery of Tough Mudder. We had a bear lawn gnome filled with weight, a pink cinderblock, a picture of David Hasselhoff we took from the start line, and we picked up a bunch of extra logs along the way. Here are some highlights of the pictures. More can be found here http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...r%20PA%202012/
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5547.jpg I'm ready. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5497.jpg These guys pledged to dress as bridges for the event if they raised $4,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. Needless to say, they succeeded. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5525.jpg Yep, full wedding makeup. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5514.jpg The "before" http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5582.jpg About 50 feet in. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5660.jpg Flutter kicks in the creek along the trail. Why? Because. Note the beer staying cold. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5692.jpg Beer made it through most obstacles. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5711.jpg "I didn't even see the logs we were supposed to pick up!" "Uh, this isn't the log carry part. This is just what we do" http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5758.jpg Badnewsdabear! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5824.jpg Wearing this mask made everything 10x harder because you can't see. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5834.jpg Made our own trail so we can splash around. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5904.jpg This was the last time GRChicken was seen. He passed away in the water, and was never found. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5957.jpg Cindi the cinderblock making it up the half pipe. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_5996.jpg On his second try, he rolled and fell flat on his back. Still having a blast. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6062.jpg Cinderblock means you can't crawl super fast through the water and live electrical wires hanging down. Also, water conducts electricity. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6123.jpg Why not carry a log through the monkey bars? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6133.jpg Showing off the Hoff to the crowd, and doing pullups mid monkey bar. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6163.jpg You need another beer? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6193.jpg The hoff! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6214.jpg Showing off. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6258.jpg Note beer in hand. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6261.jpg Didn't spill the beer! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...2/DSC_6272.jpg Balancing on a wobbly balance beam, while carrying a cinderblock, after going for 12 miles and drinking a lot of beer makes things very interesting. |

woah, i didnt realize u posted photos .
i actually did this event on the same day and right at the finish line i ended up seeing Nick and some of his crew. this was my first tough mudder, and while challenging at times, it wasnt that bad. my group tore through it in about 2 hrs and 52 mins, but most of the time we were slowed down by a few thousand slower people who were in the way on the trails/obstacles let me just say.. the EXTRA stuff Nick and his group did (cinder block, weights, extra pushups beer) is quite impressive. awesome work you guys. i'll be doing the one in the falla t E-town fo sure. just not sure which day or what group of people i'll be with yet |
