Help a brotha out...
so as some of you may know, my wallet fell victom to the shenz in seaside this past weekend. leaving me with no license. i dont keep money in my wallet so that wasnt a problem, and i cancelled my debit card that night i realized it was gone. my main issue is obviously the license....
i know, go to the DMV with 6 points and just get another.... not that easy. upon searching for hours yest threw my house, i cannot find my birth certifical  i also do not have a pass port, nor any other kind of photo ID. i know you can get certified copies of your birth certificate, im just not shure how. and the DMV website isnt really helpful. so has anyone had to do this ? and or, is there a loop hole so i can just get a damn license ?! |

you have to go to the county in which you were born in. Make sure you bring someone who can say you are who you say you are. my g/f had her wallet stolen out of her purse while she was at work and her birth certificate was in there for something else and it was a PITA
|
Town hall where you were born should have what you need. Last year my son started kindergarten and I had to run to Princeton to get a few copies to get him registered. IIRC it was $10 per copy.

There is also a tab on the LH side to order a Vital Record. Not sure how you would go about that without a photo ID. Or, find a person in your county from the list and they should be able to help. We have one in our town at the township building. |

Also, if you do not have a passport, get one of those and sock it away in case you ever need it. |

I would say use an old licence ID you have, but you're 15 years old so you only have the one.
A new BC takes about 20 mins. |
I think you can get away with the following:
School ID and transcript/report card, social security card (50% sure it always works), and Driver's license number (So many ways to find this one out. Hit up one of your cop buddies, look through old car insurance forms or just go in & explain the situation to your agent in person, pretty sure you had to use it when applying for MVC vanity plates too) Whatever you do, do NOT think of this as the perfect opportunity to buy a really good fake ID--with your picture, same street address, a different DOB, holograms, scans and blacklights, for 150-ish bucks--that you'll be able to use for the next two years. That's a bad idea, and I don't condone it. |
Yep, Birth Certificates are kept at the Dept. of Health in whatever city you were born in. When my kids were born, I had to pick up their originals in Ewood.
Good luck in Hackysack, hope it goes OK for ya! |
I ordered a new birth cert through Vital Check (CDC recommends it):
http://www.vitalchek.com/ I ordered the express one as I need my passport for a trip to Bonaire in July. 18-25 days is the current waiting time on the express order - $38 as well. |
I was going to order online but i cant wait that long.
i spoke to them on the phone, i need 2 forms of ID, niether have to have photo. they said ill be fine with my bank statements and check stubs. |
