QQ Renewal

So I get the renewal for the 84 TA's registration, open the envelope, check over the card to make sure there are no errors. I get to the pay this amount section expecting to see $44.00. Instead, I find $0.00. Now this is the first time I've renewed QQ plates, and it seems they've changed how it worked to get them since I got mine. Am I looking at a blatant typo, or is it really legitimately free to renew QQ plates?

I dropped the insurance on it when I discovered the motor was going to be more than a quick fix, and decided to overhaul the whole car. Naturally, since it was on the same policy as my daily driver, and they don't check I'll just jot down the policy number and head up to the DMV. I'm hoping to have it running soon with a Vortec and get it back on insurance sometime this year anyway.

I think QQ plates are good for 3 years so maybe that's why they go out like that. I don't remember getting something like that tough.

Awesome. Thanks. Now if only I could scrape the money together to get this thing to the Chatterbox meet...... Ain't gonna happen but I'll be there regardless.

I think my Camaro is due for renewal this year! But I knew there was no fee for the renewal.

LOL, well this was the DMV we're talking about, so I wanted to be sure they didn't **** something up royally by saying it was free. Heading up to the Newton office tomorrow to do it.

You cant do it by mail, or online?

L695speed 05-11-2012 09:28 PM

I could do it via mail, but its only 10 min to the DMV and 5 min in the god forsaken place......they don't seem to look too hard either when you do it in person.

Renewed for another 3 years. Lets see if I can get this thing back on the road before the next renewal.

damn you lol. Well come up sometime and join the fun lol. Well truth be told its more financially related than anything else. I may have it running with a quick spray job to cover the metal up sans gfx if I find a Vortec 350 and just drop it in and go. Considering its 60 HP (maybe a lil more) and similar torque increase instantly over even the L69 I may run it like that til I stroke it out.
