I felt like I just lost an uncle. He was not only an American icon and racing legend but also a gentleman.

greenformula92 05-12-2012 09:14 AM

R.I.P. Carroll Shelby, you are a legend and a master mind, you will be missed

PolarBear 05-12-2012 10:04 AM

The thing that is really sad is that people are upset at the death of one man, but no one posted anything about VE day. Something WORLD changing, where one man did something insignificant

Here is to the MILLIONS that died in World War 2, that died to keep the wolrd a better place

:usa:

Wow, I live in a cave. That was certainly sad news. I did a quick Google search & saw that they hadn't disclosed the cause of death yet?

Bill Jenkins, Ferdinand Porsche, Carrol Shelby... Bad year to be a racing legend.

edpontiac91 05-12-2012 05:06 PM

Caroll Shelby is Gone, died at age 89.

One of the most famous car guys in the world, passed on at 89. He will missed for his visions and expertise in the automotive world.

This thread is about Carroll Shelby, not veterans. If someone wants to give praise to the armed forces, they can start another thread, right?

RIP, very nice guy in person as I've meet him down at the A/C car show a few years back.

Yeah, it's not like Shelby was a test pilot and flight instructor in WWII, and retired as a Staff Sergeant Pilot. Yup he had nothign to do with any wars, or WWII in particular :rollseye:
