Sad story.

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/201...er_head-o.html

who let's a 19 year old drive a ferrari.

Tru2Chevy 05-13-2012 11:03 PM

How old are you again Rocky? That Ferrari only makes ~60hp more than your Mustang stock for stock.....

Regardless of the cause / age of drivers it's still a shame that a seemingly innocent motorcyclist lost his life.

something tells me a ferrari is faster than his mustang regardless of the little difference in power. Still sad when someone loses a life for such stupidity

i knew it was coming when i said that, but i payed for my car and i earned it. i respect it unlike a young kid in a ferrari that's not his. i'm sure driving that boosted his ego and he was wreckless. but yes i'm not perfect either and your point is valid.

and the owner of this is the guy from super speeders.. how do does that make you look when your on that show and your wreckless in ferraris. not to good for him.

but yes still very sad for that guy.

I know the Ferrari is faster. I was just pointing out that Rocky is also 19 and driving a new (not stock) GT with similar power levels that most likely won't handle as well as that Ferrari. Not looking to start a fight, just saying that age alone shouldn't be a factor in the discussion.

yeah i know i campletely agree with you.

My 12 has the ford racing handleing pack, front and back sway bars, shocks/springs strut tower bar, adjustable panhard bar. 1 3/8 lower. wider/better tires and rims. off road x and high flow mufflers. i'm getting it tuned and putting my intake back on this week and in a few months i'm looking to slapping on a blower. downs ford will put it on with full warrenty. its a 525hp kit and you keep the full warrenty!.

but the ferrari will walk my car up and down in reverse.

i live less than a mile from the stadium, some of my friends are on the EMT in the town, and they called me so i stopped down. i got a few pics that ill throw up when i get home from work.

btw, i know the ferreti family pretty well threw my father, they own a fairly large scrap metal/carting company. and for those who have ever seen the "Super Speeders" vids of the supercars that are filmed all in NJ and FL a lot of them are Ferreti boys.

sweetbmxrider 05-14-2012 07:15 AM

Wow, terrible to see an innocent rider be killed. Clearly, from the amount of damage, the ferrari was not doing the posted 25 mph. Hope its a wake up call.

LS1ow 05-14-2012 07:55 AM

the cars are down at nick's towing, a couple people i know tow for them so im gunna see if i can get down there. talked to the Feretti thats my age today, very sad man...

I would count on that.

MyFirstZ 05-14-2012 01:13 PM

If i was 19 and had the oppurtunity to drive a ferrari I would be driving like an ******* too. No doubt in my mind, but yeah it sucks

Mark B 05-14-2012 01:25 PM

Wow! How fast was he going for a motorcycle to do that much dammage to the car?

BigAls87Z28 05-14-2012 01:33 PM

I'm assuming that the bike hit the red car and the guy in the 2nd one ganked the wheel, went over a few curbs or whatever, and busted the suspension.

I suggest Man 1 and maybe a few charges for the father for supporting this type of behavior.

one of the articles say the silver car bounced off the curb n did a 180 and the red car went across the double yellow to avoid the silver car

rickyd13 05-14-2012 02:42 PM

i live about 5-10 min from there surprised this is the 1st I'm hearing of it

yes you are right, but theres some lack of reading going on here in the past few posts...
Here are some facts that might make some more sense...

-the 19 y/o spun out in a silver 430... he didn't hit anyone
-the 28 y/o swerved around the silver car with the red 430 and hit the motorcyclist.
-the cars were both owned by Gotham Dream Cars
-both drivers were employees of Gotham
-the 28 y/o has same last name as the Chief Operating Officer of Gotham, so probably his father.

so in the end... Gotham Dream Cars will probably and most likely be held liable. Drivers will probably be charged with vehicle/speed violations. MAYBE manslaughter charge on 28 y/o but since he swerved to avoid and ended up crossing the line, not sure how well that'll stick

Very sad indeed.

And just as a note, this accident closed down the SCCA Northeast Divisional Races at Metlife Stadium that day. There's a thread about it in the road racing/auto-x section.

LS1ow 05-15-2012 06:06 AM

that family got plenty money, im shure they get some kind of deal.

i went down last night to check it out. a few flowers and memorials were the biker passed so i stopped and payed my respects. you can see were the red car slid over the sidewalk and into the parking lot. numerous paint marks on the ground indicating were stuff ended up.

Not directly, no the parents cannot be charged with anything but I'm sure there might be a civil case which says that due to the promotion of speeding around on public roads by the father, they could tap the father. It will most likely come up in the case that the father runs does these kinds of videos and there will be questions as to why they two defendants thought it would be cool to mimic them?

Gotham City might be okay as I'm sure there are waivers signed and they make all employees take and sign written agreements saying they will not act like asshats when off the track or outside of an event and that they cannot he held liable if any of their employees do so.
