Removing Mold on my "New" Trans Am
This is on my project Trans Am, the '01. I had 1 hour during my lunch break to do as much as possible. I used a bleach solution, vacuumed, etc. Need to run some Meguires Gold Class leather cleaner over everything tonight or tomorrow. I'll be pulling the seats & carpets & using a carpet cleaner as well. Pardon the cell shots:

i thought bleach would stain the leather like it does dark clothes ?
guess not lol looks good man ! |
I've heard windex works well also but really dries it out

wow what a difference, that looks great

Thanks guys! If you dilute the bleach enough it should be fine.

Bleach does not kill mold. It merely "bleaches" it. To kill the mold use hydrogen peroxide. Not sure if it's safe for leather though, so do a test in an inconspicuous area.

I keep hearing that you really should not use any product with bleach to clean/kill mold. I've tried several things on my boat and I still get mold/mildew buildup. Soap and water is the safest thing to clean mold with but it really seems to take a lot of effort. Looks good so far, but let us know if the mold comes back. I hate trying to clean mold/mildew on anything.

How about Brake Cleaner!!?
