Anti_Rice_Guy 06-05-2012 08:23 PM

Doesn't look that way to me. Try getting a tank of name brand premium and see if that helps your running issues a little. Some of the swill regular pumped out of the shady NNJ gas stations has been as low as 85 octane.

You ARE running premium, correct?

rickyd13 06-06-2012 09:27 PM

i switch between tanks one reg. one super

WildBillyT 06-06-2012 09:33 PM

Isn't your car modified? Cam, etc?

:werd: The Delta gas stations by us have been pretty decent - around $3.30ish for regular, and $3.80ish for super. I miss the days when gas was only $.10 more for mid-grade, and another $.10 for super. :(

Jersey Mike 06-06-2012 09:35 PM

It's like a $3-$4 difference every tank. It's really not that substantial of a savings to not put 93 in your tank.

rickyd13 06-06-2012 09:39 PM

yeah it has the gm hot cam rollers shaved heads and idk what pistons he did

Dude. You need to run ONLY premium.

rickyd13 06-06-2012 09:40 PM

i get back to work in like 2 and a half weeks so then i can run 93 all the time

That extra $3 per tank must be brutal.

Yeah, it's a lot more expensive than detonation damage. :bertstare:

rickyd13 06-06-2012 09:55 PM

whats detonation damage?

Easiest explanation.

If you have a modified engine, with raised compression, and no tune, running cheap low octane gas, and it's backfiring and down on power you may be damaging the engine.

rickyd13 06-06-2012 10:00 PM

i know what a ping sounds like i don't have that but idk if this is related some times when i turn the car off it goes a few extra cycles like it still has fuel inside to burn its weird though
