I've had the itch for a while now...

I've been wanting to buy another Trans Am or Camaro since I sold mine a long time ago, and this year I really was planning on doing it, BUT...

What in the world happened with 4th gens? I used to see plenty of cars that I could work with in the 6-8 thousand range, but now it seems every car would either be better off in a landfill or the owner thinks its worth $15,000 - $30,000.

All i want is a decently running car with a V8, manual transmission, and T-tops for the weekends.

Is all hope lost for this endeavor?

I still see plenty of 4th gens for sub 10k. What do you want though..an ss/ws6...firehawk...anniversary model?.....then 15k plus is about right for a low mileage example.

guy in town is selling a pretty clean ss, vert, 6 speed, 41k miles, with zr1s and c6 vette rims for 10.5k

I'm not picky, I just want something for cruising

1. I want it to be in decent shape - I want to be able to drive it right away, interior all in one piece

2. I want a 6 speed and a V8

3. and I really want T-tops, I've owned two and neither had t-tops

Mileage and engine don't matter to me, I would go for an LT-1 as long as it wasn't falling apart.

I have 6k set aside for one, so i was hoping to find something for 6-8 thousand.

looking for an anniversary car in that price range would mean im going to dry states without an over abundance of salt on the roads. honestly the 94 anniversaries are the black sheep of the CETA's. the turbo gta is obviously highly sought after, the 30th and the 02 Ceta's obviously pull in the big bucks. i just dont see a LT1 anniversary going for anywhere near that price unless its in very good condition or someone wasnt willing to go the extra mile to get a clean one from a non rust belt state

Aside from the fact of being an anniversary, its a clean, 2 owner perfect running LT1 with average miles.

grazi 06-11-2012 05:12 AM

And its 100% rust free.

I do not know if you have seen it personally, so I'll start with that.

But if you haven't, it's awfully hard to judge the overall condition of a car from pics on the Internet. I can tell you that both the cars in my sig look better in person than they do in pictures.
