Audi S4s ?

anyone on here got one ? ive been debating on picking one of (B5 body, V6 TT) as a daily. i have a 01 a4 and i love it. handles the snow great and is really comfy. i have no problem driving it long distance. but its just not well "exciting" enough. im looking to spend 8-10 on one(also open to other options) but i think i nice TT 6 speed AWD car would be awesome. ive driven a few myself and love them. and there moderalty quick. my friends with a flashed computer and exhaust pulls on my buddys lightning.

so does anyone on these boards have one ?

id love to get a cummins or a D-max. but they a little out of my range that i can freely spend right now. and i dont wanna finance anything, i wanna buy outright.

LTb1ow 06-22-2012 08:19 PM

Could get a old 12v and slide fuel block for maximal coal rollin and slow ness doe

sweetbmxrider 06-22-2012 08:21 PM

Expensive to fix and maintain....well you don't give many ****s so I'd say go for it!

Jersey Mike 06-22-2012 08:25 PM

If you're serious about buying one, instead of waiting for a CTSV1, then I'll refer you to a local who's had a dozen, runs a euro-based forum, and is constantly buying/selling B5 and B6 S4s.

*Edit*
But seriously, just get a V1. LS6 with T56. Drive jeep those 5 days a year when the snow's too thick/roads aren't plowed yet.

exactly. id get rid of the a4 anyway, so id just replace it with the same expensive hunk

WildBillyT 06-22-2012 09:11 PM

Get a proper beater and put the money into your turbo build.

coolmanvette75 06-22-2012 09:16 PM

I love b5 s4's. I was going to get one before I decided to get a camaro. I've driven my friends 2001 stage 3+ and it was a rocket

greenformula92 06-22-2012 09:33 PM

I'll sell ya the legacy its modded to stage 2.5

Squirrel 06-22-2012 10:50 PM

Like green said, why not a wrx/evo/legacy?... sameish drivetrain, and much cheaper to mod/repair

not really a fan of subys, and the people around me that have evos, have made me hate them. great cars and can be fast with a ton of work, but you can tell by my activness on the forum that i like to get into the social part of owning a certain car, and EVERY person i know with is evo thinks there **** is the baddest thing out there.

What type of rear do you have? Good trans? Suspension?

Just kicking it out there.

BullittSVT 06-23-2012 11:15 AM

I've had a few friends that have owned them, the conclusion is they are fun cars but maintenance is a PIA.. they tell me the parts are super expensive and working on them is a b****

I love S4s, but I wouldn't want to own one for a daily.

My buddy picked up a Silver B5 S4 and ended up having issues with the turbos amongst other things, was very costly to him.. and parts aren't easy to come by.

performabuilt with a good converter. suspention is all tubular including K member and a chassis mount TQ arm. and QA1 ajustables.

rear is gunna be a 9, which i already have. just need to mod it.

NjbadSS 06-24-2012 02:19 PM

A good friend of mine has one identical to the blue one you posted a photo of, great car. Enough power it is fun to cruise around and very comfortable

BigAls87Z28 06-24-2012 07:20 PM

Will this be your daily or just like a 2nd car to drive when you don't want to take out the jeep or Camaro?

HeadlessNorseman 06-24-2012 08:19 PM

just throwin this out here... why not mod the a4 a little? they are kinda serious with some bolt ons.

qwikz28 06-24-2012 08:30 PM

My good friend's brother has one. I believe it has a stage 3 APR turbo kit as well. Unfortunately, he drives it about once a year so I never got a ride despite my persistent requests, but supposedly the thing is silly fast and handles amazingly. They have a cult-like following on Vortex but are troublesome. His has been a headache.

An issue you wouldn't really expect with that car is theft. Because of the desirability of the drivetrain, they are frequently stolen. His was stolen and recovered once or twice I believe. If you want me to get more info, I can.
