Magnuson mp112 questions

Well since I doubt I will get an answer from ls1tech

I have a friend with a 05 or 06 GTO wit the ls2 who has a maggie mp112 installed the tvs1900. Is this the same kit that you can buy for the fbody and use after the minor modifications to the cowl and k member?

He is looking to upgrade to the tvs2300 and if i can pick this up for cheap then Im going to be all over it.

Any helpful information is appreciated, I cant seem to find anything. As for the looks they look identical both are belt drive from the rear.

It's the same head unit but I don't think it's the same configuration. I believe the F-body kits were built off the Corvette setup. The GTO looked like a different pulley drive setup.

argh.... Got a few replys off ls1 tech that said it will fit but Im going to research that point.

I really want it to work

The corvette one sits more forward then the GTO which is more centered over the manifold.

To help clear the cowl panel a little more, but supposedly somebody has made it fit. So time to research that topic

anything can fit anywhere, with some fab work lol

i maggie shouldn't be TOO difficult to mock up. its not like a centrifugal...

There is a member on here that is currently putting a 112 on his camaro. Not gonna say who it is b/c idk if he wants anyone knowing but he did tell me that you have to lower the k-member 1/4 of an inch and notch the bottom of the hood to fit it. I'll let him chime in if he would like...

Ive gathered that much since I've been looking at them for months. My issue was the fbody kits you can buy are modified Corvette kits as stated above. The Sc is mounted forward on the manifold giving you more clearance in the cowl.

But being a gto and an ls2 I wasn't sure if the pulley alignment was going to be the same. I recieved an email that it is and it "should" work but it will be tight with the cowl and hood from technical @ magnuson.

I don't know if the k member needs to be shimmed if the hood gets notched.

Right now im waiting to hear my friends price and plans.

For the right price, do it. Otherwise, it may not be worth the 50-ish whp.

MyFirstZ 07-10-2012 12:11 PM

Shouldn't look at it that way Mike. But its probably the same $/hp I made with the heads and cam and that includes the killer deal I got on the heads

Also a NA cam does not make a good blower cam if you are looking to optimize the setup. And of course a re-tune etc. So there is always those misc costs with these sorta things.

MyFirstZ 07-10-2012 12:33 PM

Yeah I have accounted for most things I can think of like that.

I love that sound !

I think the F-body maggie kit lowers the front cradle 1/4 to 1/2" and uses the non intercooled Corvette (97-00) setup (that's a rough guess). So it would take quite a bit of changes to get a GTO setup to work especially since it uses the intercooled setup let alone the different positioning.

The F body 112 kit has you drop the K so the cowl cutting is kept to the least trimming possible. Its possible to shove it under a cowl with major modification to the cowl and removal of the wipers.
