Madden 2013
 

Came out at midnight and I heard it's the best one in years. I'm picking it up after work is anybody else getting it?

Also, would anyone be interested in an online franchise (PS3)?

05 was still the best... last year before qb view or whatever its called

QB Vision

This! I loved 05. After that when ever you did career mode as a qb they stuck you in that **** qb vision nonsense. Although I played the demo for this years game and it was pretty good. Gonna have to check it out...

I agree that 05 was the best, and in the couple years following it you could turn QB vision off which was nice.

I got to play one game and a couple franchise practice sessions and the game is pretty good. The new physics engine is awesome and it's the best reason to get the game. The menus are completely different and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to start a franchise (now called an "offline coach career" or something). Online is more emphasized than ever, they got rid of the terrible music and they switched to Jim Nantz and Phil Simms to broadcast.

Just found out last night that they got rid of fantasy drafts. :shock:


WTF EA?

So how does this madden compare with 12??

-Game play is awesome. The new graphics engine is everything they say and more. For the first time, you can tackle and run into your teammates.

-Menus are terrible. Everything is hard to find and has a new name, ie Connected Coach Career is what was once a franchise.

-New announcers are eh.

-Opening and cutaway videos are duplicated from '12.

-No player edits or fantasy drafts. You can edit rosters and save them, but you can't use them for careers aka franchises. Very dumb.

Overall, it is more fun to play than '12, but I'll be playing last year's soon just for fantasy drafts and player editing. That has always been a big part of the game to me and I think that '13 will lose replay value quickly because of that. If this year's game didn't have those features taken away, it would be a home run.

These are the 2 things that annoyed me.

I'm already sick of hearing Phil Simms say that the happiest guys on the field are the defense on the side lines....

Yea I hear that one all the time too.

Update:

Today EA Sports will release fantasy drafts for online franchises. Rumor is that this option will release for offline franchises a little later because it will need to be downloaded to user consoles.
