RIP...

98 miles on the build. it was good while it lasted.

BonzoHansen 08-31-2012 10:35 PM

that sucks. sorry

98 miles? so what happened? cars don't spontaneously combust.

Blackbirdws6 08-31-2012 10:49 PM

Wow....that sucks.

madness410 08-31-2012 11:14 PM

sorry to see these man. be thankful you are alright.

V 09-01-2012 12:09 AM

oh dam. glad you're ok though.

i know its soon but if you are looking to sell the remains, pm me.

chrisfrom nj 09-01-2012 12:17 AM

that sucks after all that work and money you put into building the car your lucky to be alive

3.4 grape of wrath 09-01-2012 05:32 AM

Ouch that hurts to look at. I once had a fire in my camaro when my turbo oil line popped off and sprayed the engine with oil. Fortunately I had a small extinguisher in the glove box which put out the flames.

Coreylt1 09-01-2012 05:54 AM

Thanks guys. I'm glad that I walked away unscathed. And yes , after I am done with all the insurance nonsense I will try to get the car back and will be selling what's left. Motor and trans should be unharmed.

grazi 09-01-2012 06:03 AM

What a bummer. Sorry man

sweetbmxrider 09-01-2012 07:29 AM

That's tough to look at knowing all the work you put into it. I hope you didn't lose anything that can't be replaced.

Jersey Mike 09-01-2012 07:47 AM

I'm genuinely upset to see this. From your last post, it sounds like you had full coverage though?

Yikes, man. Thankfully you aren't hurt though, that remains to be the only saving grace.

LTb1ow 09-01-2012 07:56 AM

Where did the fire start?

greenformula92 09-01-2012 08:34 AM

Damn man thats terrible. Glad to see your ok though

Artful Dodger 09-01-2012 09:15 AM

Glad that you are safe! You can always build another car, but we can't build another you!

DaSkinnyGuy 09-01-2012 12:33 PM

he's alive, but that is not how the fire gets put into firebird trans am

coolmanvette75 09-01-2012 12:52 PM

Damn dude that really sucks. I bet you wont drive another car without a little fire extinguiser now. I keep one in my car and this is a reminder of why I do...

Coreylt1 09-01-2012 01:54 PM

i had plans to bolt a little fire extinguisher to the roll cage when i got one...never got around to doing it... and that day i just got my new poly torque arm bushing and ordered my cat back 2 hours before..i pass by the spot on my way to and from work and see the burnt remnants and speedy dry on the street where it happened.. i still really cant believe that it happened..idk what to do or how to handle it. it really does suck. im very thankful to be unharmed and very very very thankful that my girlfriend wasnt still in the car when it happened...thank you guys for everything and all the help..this is a great forum and maybe one day ill be able to get another f body.

but yes i did have full coverage..theyre taking the car tuesday to do an investigation for the insurance..they said if its anything mechanical then its not covered.. i hope it all works out ok. im pretty sure i have an idea of what caused it to happen..

Jersey Mike 09-01-2012 02:20 PM

Where was this? Someplace local to us, I take it?

NJ Torque 09-01-2012 04:00 PM

Italian Stallion 09-01-2012 04:49 PM

Couldnt imagine watching my car burn. Sorry to see thatt, glad you're ok

zraffz 09-01-2012 07:38 PM

What causes fires that isn't mechanical besides an accident? They told you that? You should probably read your policy asap.
