The end of the road...

I haven't been around here in a long time due to real life issues, so I figured I'd drop a very sad update. My wife has been fighting cancer for over 2 years now, and a tumor was just found in her bowels. She's too weak for surgery, and isn't stong enough for more chemo. She has wasted away to less then 100 lbs, and all that can be done for her now is to up her meds and let her go in peace a/o a lot of pain. She will be moved to a hospice soon, and it's just a matter of time.

I want to thank Anti Rice Guy Nick and Hardcore Z Paul for the fund raising efforts they put forth, and to all who contributed. That cash helped keep the lights on and gas in the car and such.

I also want to tank Bad Chevelle Jon and Anti Rice Guy Nick for continuing to keep in touch with me. It is a bright spot to get a call or text and be able to maybe escape reality for a couple of secs with some car chat or to have someone who shows some concern and I can let out a bit with them.

And I also want to say how disheartening it is that there are so many people who can't return a simple call or text, or reach out once in a while. I know everyone has life issues of their own, but come on...5 mins for a phone call or text? I know plenty of people who have all the time in the world to be on these boards, but no time to help out a fellow car broh with just a kind word or two. I know a lot of people are turned off by my "say it like I mean it" attitude, but that's how I roll.

That's all I got for now. I got to get over to the hospital before I head off to work. I'm probably going to be on here looking for some help or views with some things, so if the "sounds of silence" can be put aside for a minute I would like to get some advice or such. I know there are a lot of smart people around here. So, help a broh out if he needs it, OK?

Later,

unstable bob gable

Very sad to hear, I went threw the same thing last year with my mother. Hospice did help her a lot and in the end hopefully she didn't suffer too much. I hope the best for you and your family. My prayers to you.

Hey Bob, sorry to hear about your wifes condition. I sent you an email about dealing with a similar situation recently. All the best.

NastyEllEssWon 10-12-2012 12:33 PM

This is pretty crap man, I feel for your situation. I lost my fiance about 5 years ago and not a day goes by that I dont think about her. It cuts pretty deep man.
Theres nothing I can offer you to make you feel any better, so I'll just leave you my empathy. :(

coolmanvette75 10-12-2012 01:02 PM

Wow Bob I am so sorry to head this. You and your family will be in my prayers. Just keep your head up man.

She's still alive, but so doped up she can't talk and is not really aware of whats going on. I just hold her hand and read the Bible to her. I just wish God would take her home already.

OG 10-12-2012 05:43 PM

It's heartbreaking to read this thread, both of you are in my thoughts and prayers

You are one of the strongest people I know of. Your faith has got to be tested and it seems that you are passing the grade. Try to remember the good times and know that when she is gone, that the pain and suffering will also be just a memory and the happy times will shine through.

Stay strong :/

WayFast84 10-13-2012 10:49 AM

Bob, stay strong and keep on kicking ass. If you still have my number and need anything don't hesitate to call.
