GMMG or True duals

I currently have a gmmg cat back on my ws6, but lately I've been thinking about going with true duals. Clearance is not really a concern of mine. What do you guys think stay GMMG or go duals.

Just some youtube videos I found.

This is exactly how my car sounded with the MS4

This is the dual setup I'm looking into now.

I say go true duals, but my opinion is kinda biased. If you can get around the clearance and the fact that it will have to be fabricated, then go for it. IMO a proper td setup outshines a y-pipe setup in sound and performance. With that being said, the gmmg sounds great for a y-pipe car. Maybe true duals with power sticks? Basically a true dual gmmg exhaust...

Makes me wish the trans ams had back bumper like the formulas or camaros so theres no cutout in the bumpers for the exhaust. Then id just dump it haha

Prove the performance part please?

Are you going for sound or performance?

No use for true duals. The work cost for negligable power gains isn't worth it

All of these FTL. He already has one of the best Y-pipe exhausts out there, why go to a cheaper setup that sounds worse? Guys practically get into fistfights about used GMMG setups.

Stay with the GMMG unless you NEED a true dual setup IMO. Find someplace else to spend that money.

I'm with WildBillyT on this one.

tsp duals ftw. sound better than any catback imo, i felt a gain going from my ****** pacesetter y-pipe magnaflow combo.

Ricers make their cars loud for no reason too.

grazi 12-06-2012 08:06 PM

If you want to be loud, Ill trade you my LM1 straight up for your GMMG. Wait, I'll throw in $100.00.

Your exhaust sounds great now, if it sounds like the video. If you want it louder just put a cutout at the end of the y pipe

It use to when i had one, I was using the ms4 as a comparison since its a more common cam then what I have now. I think I'm just gonna get a new y-pipe and keep the gmmg...mines got that typical cut and weld merge.
