thankx guys

I want to say it uses push pins not bolts

Jersey Mike 12-13-2012 10:04 PM

90% certain it's plastic pushpins, not metal bolts.

rickyd13 12-13-2012 10:39 PM

Its pins and bolts not 100% on the size though i remember from when i did the system jn mine its a bitch to line up though

Mike 12-13-2012 10:43 PM

rickyd13 12-13-2012 10:58 PM

You are thinking of the other side. The one in the picture is just two large push pins.

rickyd13 12-13-2012 11:03 PM

driver side under the wheel the think you use to turn the car thats the one i had to take off

Mike 12-13-2012 11:08 PM

This is under that one. Notice no hatch release? This piece is way up by the pedals

V 12-13-2012 11:10 PM

all underdash panels and lower dash panels are held up by push pins or small 7mm hexhead screws. that driver side should just be pushpins and then that one tab slips onto a place on the firewall to hold it up in the back.

Mike 12-13-2012 11:12 PM

Ad the tab sticking sideways goes into the kick panel above the "dead pedal"

You can get them at Classic Industries or your local GM dealer since they are standard on a bunch of other GM cars.

Mike 12-13-2012 11:22 PM

Or any of a million junk yards if you don't want to get killed paying for them

grazi 12-14-2012 05:38 AM

The NAPA by me has an assortment of push pins and clips like that.

bigz28man 12-14-2012 10:54 AM

thanks guys, I got them $1.00 each.

bigz28man 12-28-2012 02:32 PM

I got the pop screws in the mail today. Does anyone have a photo of how this panel fits under the dash. Its not going into place, and i dont have the other car near me for referance.

In this pic, the bottom left corner should be the cutout where the obdII port comes through. So that would be towards your right if you were sitting in the driver seat. The back has those 2 fingers that hook over whatever plastic stuff is back there by the firewall and the push clips go in the front. Oh and looking at it in the pic, the piece is upside down. The side facing the ground should point towards the roof and the side we see should go towards the carpet.

Thanks man, i had a feeling thats how it went. I'll have to role the car out of storage to get enough room to open the door all the way to get underneath there. Will have to wait till i get back from FL. Thanks again.
