trans am door weight and shipping
Does anyone know the weight of a 93-02 trans am power door without the mirror or panel? Im having one shipped to me and I was asked to get the shipping info. Also, how would you suggest I get it shipped. FedEx/Ups ground or freight?

Complete door? Why not get it local?

They are pretty heavy. I would guess between 75 and 100 lbs

I'd say around 100 lbs, have to go on a pallet, and would look at other carriers too. R & L was always good for me.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm not buying the door now. the shipping was about 170-197 plus he price of the door. Just gonna have to wait to get one locally.

Well if you need a passenger door, here is one that is close to you. You could pick it up, I have bought from them before its an easy drive.

As you know, I have a passenger side one for sale, from a '95 Firebird. With the glass still in it, window motor removed, no panel trim, speaker removed, and a short length of power window/lock harness still intact, it just weighed in at exactly 75lbs on our bathroom scale.
I know you need a driver's side one, but I don't believe there is much, if any, weight difference between the sides, V6 & V8 doors, or model years within the generation. Hope that information helps! |
Shipping cost will probably cover the cost of getting a local one painted.

ive got green ones from a 98 z28 if interested. dont think there is a difference on z to ta.
