Meguiar's Products Review/ Removal of Fine Swirls and Scratches!
This will not apply to most people who just want a quick polish job. This is for the "MOST ANAL" of us who look for products that absolutely will leave a finish that can pass the light test (use a high powered light) and look for the slightest imperfections when used properly.
Meguiar's has two products that I just used and they blow me away with the results. I have not really gone over my car, except to put a coat of wax on it, for quite some time. Under the close examination I could see FINE scratches and swirls. The products I used are Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish. I used a clean T-Shirt and cut it into small pads. Then using a good deal of pressure by HAND, I first went over a SMALL section (about 12"x12") and kept rubbing until I could hear it squeak, then I knew most of it was gone. Using the small L.E.D. flashlight, I looked what it left behind. There was a 90% improvement in the amount of swirls left. Then I used the Polish and using that by hand went over the area and it filled in the area with a depth of shine. Now using a very good carnauba wax, I went over the area to seal in the Finish. This is a very time consuming process, the the results are fantastic. Overall these are amazing products that you can find in most auto parts stores and I must say, they do the job better than anything I have ever used. Just thought some of you might have a garage, with nothing to do when it is 20*outside.:nod:
