The latest addition to the family...

I'm fed up with my Wastelands Warrior Caliber SRT4 taking so long at the body shop, so I picked up an older brother to him for some playtime: 1987 Dodge Shelby CSX. Number 339 of 650. Hopefully will pick it up this weekend. :)

Thx bro. Looks like I'm gonna stay in 80s mode. Wonder if Hairclub for Men can do a mullet...:kneeslap:

I had a brand new 1984 Dodge Charger 2.2 with a 5-speed/ aluminum wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Back then it was faster than a Z/28 (305 with 140 hp). I bought the Shelby computer along with the H.O. exhaust (chrome oval tip) and it ran like a little raped ape (not too big) plus it was getting 34 mpg. LOL with this, it looks in really good shape.

I think you meant "84" Charger 2.2, right? :) I always dug the FWD 80s Dodges, so I said "Why not?" This one is a show winner and has an interesting history, plus has a ton of good mods, so it should be fun. :)

judging by the front tires this looks like its going to give 3rd gens an asswhooping

Ha...don't know about that. I put Ricers and Eurotrashers in my crosshairs first. F-bods of any year still get props from me. :)

Paul Huryk 03-14-2013 09:27 AM

Nice! I can't remember the last time I saw one of those on the road - in so nice shape no less.

A buddy of mine had an 89 Shelby Daytona that ran pretty good, probably a low 15 second car as it was new.

TAdan 03-14-2013 12:06 PM

Awesome Bob, looks to be in great shape too! I love those little known Shelby's.

Have fun with it :D

I always liked Daytonas, very cool body style.

Nice clean car Bob. You gonna keep it that way?

A girlfriend of mine in college had a 91 or 92 turbo Daytona. quick little car, but it defined torque steer, awful lol. But it had all the same parts as the earlier year shelbys, like bigger brakes. Made getting some parts for it a pain sometimes.

And all Chrysler cars then were k-car derivatives lol, even the mini vans.

I was completely kidding when I said that, but I thought it did look like one. I didnt know all the vehicles were derivatives.
