Oil disappearing then reappearing

So I'm having a seemingly odd issue. I know that I burn off a little oil with my rear mount turbo so I wasn't surprised when my low oil light came on on Wednesday. So I put a quart in and all was well. I went for a long ride Thursday and some spirited driving on Friday and my low oil light came back on. I pulled the car in and checked my dip stick, I had some blow by smoke coming out but sure enough it was a quart low. I figured maybe my PCV was shot and I was boosting the crank case or something. I left it for the night, checked it again the next day and magically the oil was back. Where the hell would a quart of oil go. I can't imagine it would all sit in the valve covers and would poor PCV flow or high crank pressure cause a back up of this size with no leaks?

Maybe the oil passages in the heads are clogged and alot of oil is sitting in their?????

Can't imagine it's only got 3k on a full rebuild

is it possible that the extra oil was in the lines to the rear mount and after shut off the pump takes a while to pump it back to the oil pan, or something to that effect?

I wouldn't believe so since the line always full. Only thing it would do is over flow in the turbine which it isn't doing
