Stolen ls1 epidemic in South Bay Ca

Hey all,
Haven't been on here much at all in the past few years as I moved out to ca. Thought you might be interested in this bit of news..... An epidemic of car thieves going after ls1 4th gens has skyrocketed here. Approx 300 ls1 thefts in the last year in the South Bay Area alone. Even made the nightly news in Dec. http://www.ktvu.com/videos/news/oakl...hieves/vCLfhk/ (Video in link).

Crazy stuff. I've actually debated selling mine- it's almost gotten to the point where these cars are total targets here.

Anyway, thought your be interested... Keep those cars locked and safe and away from prying eyes!

Yeah that sounds spot on. Guys know they can yank the motor and trans. Make $4000 in a day and torch the body.

Now you have to be careful selling it cant post it locally or on CL cause youd draw interest to it and not know who is coming to look at it and scout it out your best bet would be ebay or something along those lines honestly. Like you said though keep it locked up.

Easy way around that: if I was going to sell I would meet at a public place at least a 10min ride away from my house. No reason for them to know where it's at.... With clean title in hand all that matters is if he has the cash and I have the title :)

And to think I traded my turbo Buick for a 2004
gto so I could worry less about it getting stolen.

Maroboys are probably behind it.
