Moser 12 Bolt and 4th gen UMI Suspension bits

I have a Moser 12 bolt - 4 channel, 3:73s, TrueTrac, 33 spline, 1350 yoke, Aluminum rear cover, extended ARP studs, new GM backing plates (see pics, backing plates are bent from falling off jack stands during storage).

The rear was originally a 4:10 set up but I had Josh at JS Performance swap out the gears for 3:73s. Apparently something about the gears being different style carriers causes them to have a slight hum/whine from about 45-55mph (as indicated on my dash). Nothing terrible like a bad bearing, but you'll definitely notice it is there. Unless I"m in a highway gear, my motor drowns it out.

I redid the bearings over the Fall and added seals (Moser just uses RTV, some guys on this forum helped me with that). I also replaced the rear diff cover gasket with a Mr. Gasket and refilled the rear with Motul 300 (as recommended by Moser). It was when I swapped out the bearings that I decided to replace the backing plates (GM stopped production of them shortly after so I was lucky with that).

Last, I should note that I am the second owner of this rear. The original owner was a older gentleman in upstate NY that had a Firehawk with a built motor. He took the car to the strip, but I didn't. I had Josh inspect it when I went in for the gear change, which I believe was back in 07 or 08. Diff looks good and has been flawless since, with the exception of the leaky seals I replaced last fall.

Asking $2000, or $2250 package with the below parts

Also have three UMI suspension parts. Adjustable panhard rod, 98-02 trans mounted adjustable torque arm and a 98-02 T56 Torque Arm relocation kit. All are red, all purchased new by me. Minor scuffs on all. Panhard rod likely needs new rod ends.

Panhard rod - $50
Torque arm - $200
Relo Kit - $175

PM me if you have questions. Pics below.

Damn, hell of a deal. Good luck with the sale Jake! If you held off until January I'd scoop this from you in a heart beat!

Oh man this is a sweet deal, I might be able to swing it in October, but I'll have to convince the gf to let me... Which may not be to easy

You never know, guys. It might still be around. I hope not, though. I'll accept any reasonable offer to get this thing out of the garage.

All the parts are in Mahwah, NJ, but I might be able to arrange for delivery if needed.

I drove the car with the 4.10s for about a year. I didn't like how short the gearing was. I was basically in 4th on every road in town, but still needed to row threw the first 3 no matter what. The 3.73s are perfect. Second gear to blast off an on ramp. Third gear for pulling from there. Fourth gear is rarely used around town. I replaced the rear with a MWC 9" and I stuck with 3.73s.

I do not have the 4.10s, unfortunately.

I'll take the panhard bar.

As far as the torque arm, is it preshaved for the 12 bolt? Was there a safety loop and Were you running long tubes with it ? Sorry I can't see the pictures service at training is bad and they won't load right now

I don't know what you mean by preshaved, but definitely not. It did fit, though. I ran it with longtubes, but no loop.

I have a chassis mounted one and there is two sets of bolt holes and has a little edge that catches on 12 bolt on top so I cant push it in closer to the diff so it hits under my passenger seat under super hard acceleration or bumps from construction. Alright I have to think about that one buy definitely want the PH bar

Hmmm, I have no idea what you mean by that, but you are more than welcome to try it out for size.

You can cut the one set of holes off the torque arm mount to utilize the holes that would pull the arm closer to the diff and away from the tunnel.

MyFirstZ 09-09-2014 07:49 PM

Yeah that's what I meant lol

qwikz28 09-12-2014 07:50 AM

bump. Make me an offer on this rear, guys. I'm quite motivated to make the room.

qwikz28 09-19-2014 07:43 AM

Bump. I have to move this thing to storage if it doesn't sell soon, so if you pick this thing up this weekend, I'll let the Moser go for $1500. If its not picked up before Monday, its back to the original price.

qwikz28 09-21-2014 11:47 AM

bump. $1500 today. That's a freaking steal for a well maintained 12 bolt with newish backing plates and fresh seals.

1500 with the suspension stuff or just the rear ?
