points upgrade. pertronix or ??
 

my boat has points ignitions on its engines. and im seriously considering upgrading to something more modern. what are my options ? im looking at the pertronix units any thoughts on those ? good/bad ? or what other options are out there ?

what kind of engine? I would think a modern HEI swap would easy.grab one from the junk yard and give it a freshen

I would just do an HEI upgrade, if you wanna spend the scratch call MSD and put a complete modern ignition system on them. With how prices have come down on rebuild kits and aftermakret stuff it really isn't worth the hassle to deal with points or conversion stuff.
