Detailed my 97 S10

A couple of weeks ago I detailed My S10. My Brother bought this truck new in 97 and gave it to me in 2009. It has the 4.3 with a 5 speed, 4X4 and AC delete. It has a K&N cold air kit and Mufflex did a custom exhaust. This is what it looked like when I picked it up. It had steel wheels, I bought and installed the OEM, NOS aluminum wheels, added the bed cover and 99-04 mirrors.

I had to replace the grille, front bumper, radiator support and lower valance because a kid decided to make a left in front of me. This is the result after those parts were replaced. I painted everything myself and removed the S10 emblems from the doors.

I smoked the front marker lights in the bumper and used a 2WD lower valance with fog lights

Here are the pictures of the truck detailed a couple of weeks ago. The paint is the original paint from 97.

I came across a 95-97 S10 Blazer grille with composite headlights, pig tails and bulbs, at the E-town swap meet for $40. So I did the conversion last weekend and this is how the truck looks now.

I don't know if I like the chrome grille. I was thinking of painting it body color or black. Any opinions?

That's a very clean truckster. I like the chrome grill, especially with the black bumper and red hood. It sets those 2 colors off nicely.

Cool truck. I don't like the chrome grill. I think it would need chrome bumpers to look good. I vote black 8-)

Thanks! I like the chrome and I don't.
I also have a cowl induction hood that I would like to get installed this summer.

Body color the grille, bumper along w/the cowl hood install will make it look sweet.

Either go black from the body line down on the whole truck or paint it all red. Grill can be chrome if the bumper matches.

it gives me the unfinished body shop repair vibe

Isnt that the reason you posted this?

I'm on the fence with the chrome grille. I agree with sweetbmxrider though, it would look better with chrome bumpers.

Here's another option - could you retrofit the new headlights into the old black grill? The openings look pretty similar.
