97 z28 for $300?

i had someone offering me a 97 z28 auto hard top not running for $300, it's been sitting for a while and seams like #8 plug got shot out of the treads, it has a Borla exhaust system in great shape that alone is worth that much, even dough i don't need another car the challenge is very tempting...is it worth the trouble?

BonzoHansen 05-31-2015 05:40 PM

Buy it and part it

84355z28 05-31-2015 05:47 PM

knowing me i would try to fix it instead, i wouldn't be able to resist the challenge, and since i do everything myself it will be sitting for a while

thats a steal for $300

NastyEllEssWon 06-01-2015 01:20 AM

the wheels themselves will get you 50 - 100 bucks from people just looking for cheap winter sets. easily.

That blue Pete in picture #1 looks familiar...

I would buy It!! That's a steal even if you buy it and resell it or call one of those car sale numbers you will get $1000. or fix the engine and flip the car for profit. I would take it just for parts so I could build a cheap LSX engine to put in my 86 Camaro. If you have the extra money, space, time, tools and know what your doing it's well worth it.

zraffz 06-01-2015 02:53 PM

I don't have the time to part it out and really don't want to do it.
I need to clean up my yard so $300 come and get it. Bring a trailer. As stated, between rear and exhaust you could double your money lol.

elle 06-01-2015 03:45 PM

The engine still in it? Are the floors solid?

elle 06-01-2015 03:45 PM

Title?

maroman88 06-01-2015 04:21 PM

theres a complete LT1 engine on CL for a few hundred bucks, if u can do the swap urself u could make a few g's

84355z28 06-01-2015 05:11 PM

if it was manual i would get it, but living in a town house and we already have 4 cars i only have room for 1 more and that's it, i can fix the engine myself as i already build a few but no time and patience for that anymore.

84355z28 06-01-2015 05:50 PM

another thing is i do not have the heart to part out a perfectly fixable car, if it was hit bad yes but it deserves to be fixed and driven

BonzoHansen 06-01-2015 08:45 PM

suckers sentiment. part it out so other cars may live a better life!

town house and we already have 4 cars ==> that answers the should you buy it question lol

If you really want it gone, I could be there Sunday with my trailer and cash. PM me if interested.

2nd in line to buy it. I'd fix it up for my son.

ThoR294 06-02-2015 10:54 PM

My friend needs a lt1 for her camaro

84355z28 06-06-2015 10:42 AM

I'm picking it up tomorrow, i have a place to put it and the wife's blessing...lol.
But it's not being parted out, i have to diagnose/fix the problems, do a compression test, get it running and if needed pull out the engine to rebuilt, it also needs some body work and paint, maybe a satin black?

ThoR294 06-06-2015 11:34 AM

My friend needs an engine for her 96 camaro... Think about it ;) lol

V 06-06-2015 06:41 PM

good, because I really didn't want the car, lol.

zraffz 06-06-2015 10:20 PM

I'd honestly helicoil the #8 plug and send it down the road but even that is too much work for me to do lol. I have my work truck torn apart for a rebuild, my plow truck torn apart for rockers and cab corners and my Pete has an air leak behind the dash that I haven't even looked at.

84355z28 06-07-2015 07:19 PM
