found the F'n rattles lastnight

Well while I was attenpting to change my swaybars lastnight I was looking for rattles and i found them  Both my rear rotors and calipers rattle. what the hell could have worked these lose. this is the first time i have ever heard of this. I tried to tighten the calipers and that didn't work. damn allen key screws are rusted to no end. I think once my clutch and trans work is done im getting a new car. I'm leaning towards a worked 91 or 92 Z28 probably going to spend around 8 grand and the only way I would get a 3rd gen is if its mint. good paint, interior, engine, trans, rear, mods. other wise its ls1 time

yea but the rotor rattles also. this sucks. dont know if i want to go with stock or wait till i get the new car and upgrade those brakes and then put those on the 86 unless i could get rotors, calipers for less then $500 for front and back.

i think rotors, pads calipers for the front should run about $200 so figure about the same for the rear.

id be able to pick them up at like a strauss auto store? what about the allen key pins.

I'd be willing to bet the calipers are fine. If you change the caliper bolts (only a few bucks at Strauss or any real auto parts store), then change the O-rings and lube the slide pins that the calipers float on, you should be able to get away with just changing the pads and rotors.

The only tough part will be getting those bolts out if they're that frozen. WD-40 and a large breaker bar will be your friends. :)

is there a easy way to get at the back pins? casue it doesnt seem like there is a lot of room to get to them

Craftsman (and others) make a 3/8ths drive socket with the right size hex-head to fit that bolt. Use that, with a 3/8ths drive breaker bar, and you should have enough room. What's your schedule like, I might be able to help you out sometime?
