i am without words...

a musclecar has sold for more than $2 million.

that's right, i said

$2 million US dollahs

i picked up this months copy of mopar action, which i tend to do from time to time, just to keep up with the pentastar guys and any advances they may be making in the art of restoration. it's a hemi 'cuda, natch, and it's a french car. only nine were made, 7 of which are the most recognized because they were kept here in the US.

the car was actually part of a handful of cars that changed hands, so it's not easy to peg the exact number that was paid for the car. the writer said the price paid for all of the cars comes off more like a lottery windfall than a car purchase.

That's old news. It's probably already worth $2.5 million now!

Yea, I saw that when my dad (who is the only reason there is a 340 6-pack motor and a GTX rear taking up valuable space in my garage) brought home that mag last week.....real nice looking car, but 2 mil? :shakes head:

it's a seller's market, and some of the buyers have more money than brains. the buyer already has two of the seven, now three of the nine. i imagine he'd like to corner the market and buy up all nine.

oh, i forgot to mention, it was a convertible. manual convertible, at that. radio delete, no AC, the usual hemi 'cuda "options". heh.
