Finally Got Some Pics Of My Daily Driver.....Check It Out

It's a 1997 Chevy 1500 4WD. I put a new Vortech crate engine in it when I bought it and painted it myself last spring. It has about 5.5 inches of suspension lift and 35x12.5 tires. I just bought a push bar for the front and plan on getting fog lights to mount on it. I also got a bass tube and some tweeters for Christmas.
All it needs now is a new exhaust from the cat back (no mufflers) and I'm still chasing down a power loss problem.

awesome truck, looks like you could run some ricers over with that Â*:drive: Â*

HardcoreZ28 12-27-2004 01:39 PM

Hahah Definately could.....it's gonna be even more fun when the push bar shows up. Now if I could only find out why I'm losing power. I have fuel and air for sure....whole fuel system is new except the lines. I have spark but maybe it's weak? The ignition module is ok because I tried a new one with no change. I'm going to try a new coil this week. After that I may have to suck it up and take it to the dealer for them to check the rest of the sensor output data.

nice truck im thinking about getting something similar for towing, minus the lift and all ;)

HardcoreZ28 12-27-2004 02:03 PM

Thanks. Yeah the lift isn't very conducive to towing. I hauled my t-bird all the way home from Long Island when the truck only had 4 inches of lift and it was a hairy trip!

really nice truck...tailights aren't my style but the truck is really nice...

HardcoreZ28 12-28-2004 07:48 AM

Yeah I wasn't sure I wanted to do the tailights. They are a little ricey but that whole trend started with trucks anyway. Plus my stock lights were cracked and I couldn't pass inspection with them.....so $40 on ebay and I got these.

Wasted Youth 12-28-2004 01:39 PM

yea in that case id leave them, new stock lights aren't cheap...a friend of mine got the same lights for the same reason...for some reason i have always been partial to smoked tailights...never liked the clear though...

in case your interested, i just found these on ebay(not my auction) while looking for lights for my friends 87 c1500...
stock oem taillights on ebay, $5 starting bid no bids yet, about 5 days to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

Cough, cough, ricer, cough, cough. :typeR:

HardcoreZ28 12-29-2004 07:38 AM

Hahahah......call me a ricer when I'm right on your bumper at a stoplight

JL8Jeff 12-29-2004 07:56 AM

Did DMV make you go through the stability test at inspection down at the Manahawkin station? I have no idea at what height they make you do that.

HardcoreZ28 12-29-2004 08:28 AM

I was "supposed" to, but I've got some friends in low places. It would have passed the ramp test though I'm fairly certain.

dude that cartoon pic is friggin awesome...you do that yourself?

HardcoreZ28 01-03-2005 07:31 AM

Hahahahahh.....why yes, yes I did do it myself!

Ok maybe not...I'll give credit where credit it due. Jon did the cartoon for me. I added a few details, but he did the majority of the work. Thanks again bro.

 not a problem
